Chemical Bird Control
Bird Fogging or Bird Hazing is a very effective method of pest bird control. A chemical called Methyl Anthranilate or (MA) is an oil-based bird repellent used for the dispersal of pest birds in open spaces. It is formulated for application with foggers and haze generators. Methyl Anthranilate is harmless to people, pets, plants and birds. It is an oil based carrier. MA exceeds US Food Chemical Codes (FCC) specifications, and is classified as Generally Recognized As Safe (GRAS). It is used as a fragrance or flavoring in many types of foods including; soda, ice cream, candy and gelatin. It comes from natural sources such as concord grapes and flowers. This is why the product typically has a grape smell.
Bird Fogging
Bird Fogging is a humane bird control method. It does not cause any long term harm to birds. The fog irritates the bird’s nose and mouth as if flies through the fog. This chemically repels the pest bird to another area. In large flocks, only several birds need to be affected in order to deter the whole flock. Bird Fogging works great in open air locations such as parking garages, pools, shopping malls, and restaurants with outdoor dining areas. Fogging can be used as a single pest bird control system or in conjunction with other bird control methods. For example, implanting routine Bird Fogging along with a Sound Repelling System works great for controlling pest birds in a parking garage where the cost of Bird Netting is unaffordable for the customer.
Bird Fogging systems come in all different sizes. Small battery powered, time activated misters are effective for repelling birds from individual trees. Large systems have their own small supply tank and can power many nozzles throughout building or structure similar to a mosquito misting system.
